ALEX ROSS Large Limited Edition Canvas Print Marvel Comics’Immortal Hulk’ + COAMarch 25, 2024March 25, 2024
Large, extremely rare limited edition’Artist’s Proof’ print on canvas, beautifully presented in a bold ebonised gallery frame, depicting The Incredible Hulk, the Marvel Comics character. This work is entitled’Immortal Hulk’ and is by the renowned, multi-award winning, American comic book writer and artist Alex Ross b. This limited edition print came directly from DeMontfort Fine Art, is new and has never been owned. An artist’s proof is an impression of a print taken in the printmaking process to show the current printing state of a plate while the plate is being worked. The proof is checked and approved by the artist and, although in theory it is identical to the finished work, it is not included in the final limited edition print count. Artist’s proofs belong to the artist, are much more scarce and rare than a normal limited edition print, therefore more valuable, and by convention, the artist would not usually sell these at once. Nelson Alexander Ross was born in Portland, Oregon, raised in Lubbock, Texas, and studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. He initially worked at an advertising agency as a storyboard artist, and had his first comic book work published in 1990, and in 1993 completed his first Marvel Comics superhero assignment for the cover of a Superman novel. His first public recognition came with the 1994 miniseries Marvels, and he has since completed a multiple, wide ranging variety, of projects for both Marvel and DC Comics.
