LARS TUNEBO (b. 1962) Limited Edition A/P Print Rhino’The Main Attraction’ + COANovember 20, 2024November 20, 2024
Extremely rare limited edition’Artist’s Proof’ print, beautifully presented in a gallery frame, depicting a fantasy scene, with a rhinoceros balancing on ball in front of The Collosseum in Rome, Italy. This contemporary work is entitled’The Main Attraction’ and is by the Swedish artist Lars Tunebo b. 1962 , who creates his work in black and white, from layers of photographs, before applying colour to the main subject, and other selected features, to highlight these elements. He then hand finishes each piece with clear transparent colours and individual effects which is evident in the pearlescent finish of this limted edition print. An artist’s proof is an impression of a print taken in the printmaking process to show the current printing state of a plate while the plate is being worked. The proof is checked and approved by the artist and, although in theory it is identical to the finished work, it is not included in the final limited edition print count. Artist’s proofs belong to the artist, are much more scarce and rare than a normal limited edition print, therefore more valuable, and by convention, the artist would not usually sell these at once. Lars Tunebo was born in Lysekil, Sweden, and is a self-taught artist who uses a variety of techniques and materials including bronze, glass, painting, photography and mixed media, to create mixed media photo-montages that offer an alternative take on the art of wildlife amid contemporary urban society. He is best known for his photo-montages of brightly-coloured wild animals in iconic urban situations. Today he is a Gothenburg based artist who has exhibited widely around the globe, and whose works feature in prestigious public and private collections. Signed and numbered by the artist lower margin.
