The artist says of this work. At this stage in my painting life I was getting fed up with the fact that every wildlife image I saw had a bright green background. I started wondering what the effect would be if I used the complimentary colour – red – instead. I’m very happy with the proportions and innocent look of the baby zebra. The frame has a minor chip to the top edge (approximately 1cm long), see image above, a couple of very minor dinks, and some nibbles to the back corners, none of which are really noticeable when hanging, otherwise it is in excellent condition.
