Large, limited edition print, beautifully presented in a bold ebonised gallery frame, depicting The Rolling Stones guitarists Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards, entitled’The Famous Flames – Black Limo’ this spectacular work is by the English rock musician, band member of the Rolling Stones and artist Ronnie Wood b. Ronnie Wood is represented by’Castle Fine Art’, who describe this collection of prints as follows. Published in 2011, The Famous Flames Suite by Ronnie Wood echoes the intensity of his guitar playing, translating the rawness of a Rolling Stones performance through rhythmic lines, bold colours and acute facial expressions. Ronald David Wood was born in Hillingdon, West London, into a family “bargees”, or canal barge operators. He began his music career in 1964, playing lead guitar with several British rhythm and blues bands, including the Birds, and joined the Jeff Beck Group in 1967, in 1969 they split and he, and lead vocalist Rod Stewart, joined’The Faces’. Following a short solo career he joined The Rolling Stones in 1974, and has enjoyed a very colourful career in rock music since. He alos enjoyed art as a child, and won a competition on the BBC television programme Sketch Club, an achievement he refers to as his “awakening to art”. He went on to train at the Ealing Art College, and has enjoyed great success with his paintings, drawings and prints, that often feature icons of popular culture, particularly The Rolling Stones, and have been exhibited all over the world. Framed, glazed (with perspex), deep-mounted and ready to hang, in a bold moulded ebonised gallery frame. Overall frame size 80cm x 99.5cm approx. 31 1/2 inches x 39 1/8 inches – The frame, has some minor rubbing in places to the edges and to some of the corners, and has a small dent to the back right-side edge, please see images above, otherwise both limited edition print and frame are in excellent condition.
